1. Does UM offer health insurance for students?
The University Health Center only participates with the MAMSI Student Health Insurance Plan. Information on enrolling with MAMSI and other insurance questions can be answered at http://www.health.umd.edu/geninfo/insurance.html.

The University Health Center is a full-service ambulatory care facility operating on campus. A complete listing of services, programs, and hours can be found at http://www.health.umd.edu.

3. Is childcare available for students?
UM does not operate a childcare center on campus. Numerous childcare centers and in-home facilities are in the area. Information can be found at http://www.faculty.umd.edu/relocate/childcare.html.

4. Will I need to update my immunization information?
Immunizations are available at the University Health Center. A completed Immunization Record is required to attend UM. Also, the Meningitis vaccine is required for all students residing in UM owned housing. Information is given at http://www.health.umd.edu/services/immunizations.html.

5. What is the availability of housing on-campus for transfer students?
The availability of housing on-campus for transfer students varies by semester. Usually, very little, if any, on-campus housing is available for transfer students. The latest information on campus housing can be found at http://www.resnet.umd.edu.

No. Transfer students are not required to live in a residence hall.
